You know what I mean, like if you're using the American, or British slang too much its sometimes, I guess its kind of rude or inappropriate in a lot of places.
So where or when do you exactly use it, and why?
IS using slang A good habit or not
if you're talking to an older adult it's better to use formal speech and respectful words, if it's just a chat with a peer or a younger friend; slang is OK but don't push it, you're not a native, too much slang will make you look like an idiot
and don't learn the slang before you know the formal speech well enough to tell between the two
IS using slang A good habit or not
oh yeah, you got me on that one
I guess you phrase it pretty well, but lets say I live in America, where almost everyone it speaking informal English, does that make it bad too?
I'm well aware of the difference between slang and formal English when I speak in a daily life basis, so I'm feeling secure about that :)
I think you got it if that's the case. Living in an english speaking country means you'd notice if you started to sound stupid or not... don't worry too much
