I built Thesis Desk, a vanilla HTML/CSS/JS web app to help PhD students organize their dissertation end-to-end.

Key features:

Zero dependencies, no build step — runs in any modern browser

Offline-first: all data stored in localStorage (local-only)

Arabic RTL UI with light/dark mode

Project profile, 48-section structure tracker, literature review cards, reference log (APA 7)

Reference verification via Crossref/OpenAlex + academic search across 36 portals

Consistency matrix (gap → question → objective → hypothesis → result → recommendation)

Auto-generator: fetches from OpenAlex, filters retracted/unindexed, adds refs with APA, exports Word/Markdown

Backup/restore, snapshots, trash bin

Ethical/academic banner included

It's MIT-licensed and fully open to contributions. Good first issues are available for newcomers.
