see, it makes me feel fake, i can't imagine someone saying words like that, maybe 1000 years ago someone would've done that, but now no one does, it feels forced and unnatural, therefore stupid
i told you put those love poems aside it's not the only genre for poems there are many many types, this love type i hate as well it's very shallow and fake but other types like the patriot type are amazing
i may not look as guy that reads poetry, but i read tons of it, memorized most of what i read, and had many hours wasted on poetry, it doesn't give anything back but words, you only learn words and ways to describe things, ways you never use in your daily life, sure its ART but as of most arts, its useless in many ways

the ability to express one's self is no waste of time,are you aware how many people can't express themselves and hence they are either ill or have personalities disorders?
how do you measure value anyways?! shouldn't it be very valuable just because you enjoy it? same thing applies to songs and paintings and most arts, it's all valuable but the value varies in the eye of the beholder.

The reason that you dislike poetry for is my reason to love it, learning words, the ability to accurately describe things in a way you don't use in your daily life.
In the slang language i stumble upon finding a proper word but when it comes to creative writing i'm fluent and it comes so easily and naturally..
Ever listened to Kathem al Saher songs and Majeda Al Rumi,they are all based on Nizar Qabani's poems in general, it's nothing but a way to enjoy a simple thing when all other 'real things seem so shallow.
Even though i know it might be fake but that doesn't make it less beautiful to me, just the way you enjoy your ice cream it's useless to your body or even harmful but you enjoy it..
If there is no value for literature and poems/it's rare and nobody is writing about it then my life would be very empty with no great value or pleasure!

i used to listen to kazem all the time, then stopped, i still like his vice and deep words of Qabani make it even better, but it's not that big of a deal to me
i know it's fake, so it doesn't touch me that hard

My life revolves about arts and beauty in small things so reading this wowed me in a bad way, i hope i won't change i would be missing the best part of the world the part that you are missing.

I think he's talking about boredom, you know when you can't enjoy a song after replaying it over and over again
But that passes anyway, and when you come back after a bit of time you'll remember how enjoyable it is
Not ALL arts, just poetry.
I still love movies... songs... music... books and novels... but poetry seems way too forced out and unnatural
